Consent

  1. 2 Appointed position in the City Coordinator’s Office: Service Center Director (2021-00585)

    1. Adopting findings that the proposed position meets the criteria in Section 20.1010 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, City Council to Establish Positions; and approving the appointed position of Service Center Director, evaluated at 645 total points and allocated to Grade 14.

    2. Passage of Ordinance amending Title 2, Chapter 20 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Administration: Personnel, approving the salary schedule for the position of Service Center Director, which has a salary range of $125,434 to $148,694, in accordance with the adopted compensation plan for appointed officials effective May 11, 2021.

  2. 3 Appointed position in the City Coordinator's Office: Race and Equity Director (2021-00584)

    1. Adopting findings that the proposed position meets the criteria in Section 20.1010 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, City Council to Establish Positions; and approving the appointed position of Race and Equity Director, evaluated at 630 total points and allocated to Grade 13.

    2. Passage of Ordinance amending Title 2, Chapter 20 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Administration: Personnel, approving the salary schedule for the position of Race and Equity Director, which has a salary range of $122,457 to $145,165, in accordance with the adopted compensation plan for appointed officials effective May 11, 2021.

  3. 4 Capital Long-Range Improvements Committee (CLIC) Appointments (2021-00589)

    Approving the Council appointment of Johnathan Ahn, Seat 20, Ward 10, for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2021, and ending December 31, 2022.

  4. 5 Gift acceptance from Pohlad Family Foundation, McKnight Foundation, Minneapolis Foundation and Joyce Family Foundation to support transforming public safety (2021-00604)

    Passage of Resolution accepting donations from the Pohlad Family Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, the Minneapolis Foundation and the Joyce Family Foundation to be directed to Leadership for a Networked World, for funding pro bono work to the City of Minneapolis for transforming public safety. 

  5. 6 Legal Settlement: Lawsuit by Progressive Direct Insurance Co. (2021-00590)

    Approving the settlement of the lawsuit brought by Progressive Direct Insurance Company against the City of Minneapolis, et al., Court File No. 20-CO-20-5674 by payment of $1,598.07 to Progressive Direct Insurance Company and its attorneys, and authorizing the City Attorney's Office to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the settlement.

  6. 7 Legal Settlement: Brian Oman v. City of Minneapolis, et al. (2021-00591)

    Approving the settlement of the lawsuit by Brian Oman v. City of Minneapolis (Hennepin County District Court, unfiled, no court file number assigned) by payment of $6,750 to Mr. Oman and his attorneys, and authorizing the City Attorney's Office to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the settlement.

  7. 8 Contract amendment with Grazzini Brothers and Company for terrazzo flooring work for the Public Service Building Project (2021-00592)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001347 with Grazzini Brothers and Company, in the amount of $7,519 for a total amount not to exceed $682,977, for increased terrazzo flooring work for the Public Service Building Project.

  8. 9 Contract amendment with Margolis Company for increased landscaping work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00593)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract ­­­­­No. COM0001350 with Margolis Company, in the amount of $2,989 for a total amount not to exceed $497,521, for increased landscaping work for the Public Service Building Project.  

  9. 10 Contract amendment with Distinctive Cabinet Design, Inc. for additional casework and millwork supply for Public Service Building Project (2021-00594)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001531 with Distinctive Cabinet Design, Inc., in the amount of $9,388 for a total amount not to exceed $1,204,326, for an increase in scope of work for casework and millwork (tax exempt) material supply for the Public Service Building Project.

  10. 11 Contract amendment with BlueSky Electric Company, LLC for increased solar array work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00595)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001354 with BlueSky Electric Company, LLC, in the amount of $6,813 for a total amount not to exceed $226,370, for increased solar array work for the Public Service Building Project.

  11. 12 Contract amendment with Modern Piping, Inc. for additional mechanical work for the Public Service Building Project (2021-00596)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0000416 with Modern Piping, Inc., in the amount of $12,105 for a total amount not to exceed $28,955,361, for additional mechanical work for the Public Service Building Project.

  12. 13 Contract amendment with MA Mortenson Company for additional carpentry and casework for the Public Service Building Project (2021-00597)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001069 with MA Mortenson Company, in the amount of $45,155 for a total amount not to exceed $6,663,443, for increased carpentry and casework installation for the Public Service Building Project.

  13. 14 Contract amendment with Acoustics Associates, Inc. for increased flooring work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00598)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001149A with Acoustics Associates, Inc., in the amount of $129,282 for a total amount not to exceed $1,757,386, for increased flooring work for the Public Service Building Project.

  14. 15 Contract amendment with Acoustic Associates, Inc. for additional acoustical ceiling work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00599)

    Authorizing a decrease to Contract No. COM0001149 with Acoustic Associates, Inc., in the amount of $35,999 for a total amount not to exceed $4,341,055, for decreased acoustical ceiling work for the Public Service Building Project.

  15. 16 Contract amendment with MA Mortenson Company for increased site improvement work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00600)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001689 with MA Mortenson Company, in the amount of $21,476 for a total amount not to exceed $832,843, for increased site improvement work for the Public Service Building Project.

  16. 17 Contract amendment with Egan Company for increased skylight work for Public Service Building Project (2021-00601)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0000216 with Egan Company, in the amount of $875 for a total amount not to exceed $531,058, for increased skylight work for the Public Service Building Project.  

  17. 18 Contract Amendment with MA Mortenson for additional for Construction Manager (as an Advisor) services for the Public Service Building Project (2021-00602)

    Authorizing an increase to Contract No. C-43247 with MA Mortenson, in the amount of $789,666.00 for a total amount not to exceed $19,704,930, for reimbursement of costs associated with increased scopes of ancillary work,  and an extended project schedule for the Public Service Building Project.

    Receiving and filing a citizen petition proposing an amendment to the City Charter in the form of a ballot question to be referred to the electorate at the general election on November 2, 2021, to add a new Public Safety Department and to eliminate the standalone Police Department.

  2. 20 Proposal to amend the City Charter: Government Structure (2021-00580)

    Receiving and filing a proposed charter amendment submitted by the Charter Commission related to government structure to be referred to the electorate in the form of a ballot question at the general election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
