Background Analysis
Minneapolis Police Department will provide law enforcement patrol services in support of the Minneapolis Safety Initiative and increase police visibilities where safety perception has indicated need for extra police presence from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023 compensated at $112 per hour per officer. MSI & MPD will agree upon the number of hours in the forthcoming month for which MSI wishes to engage MPD as agreed to by MPD. MPD does not provide a guarantee that hours requested will be filled.
Similar services were provided in 2022. Services requested in 2023 to address increased crime rates including robberies , 3-year average up 73.7%, thefts, assaults, shots fired, and other. .
