Background Analysis
The Police Department requests approval to accept a grant award to support a DWI officer conducting DWI enforcement. The grant is funded by a federal DWI grant through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety. The Police Department created one new DWI Officer position under this grant in 2015 and this 2018 grant award would continue to support that position. No new FTE is requested.
This is a budgeted expense in the Police 2018 budget.
