This action will combine The Deputy City Attorney – Criminal and Deputy City Attorney - Civil under the title of Deputy City Attorney. Reporting to the City Attorney, the Deputy City Attorney is part of the City Attorney’s Office (CAO) and focuses on ensuring the highest levels of service delivery in virtually every area of the City’s legal services for the Criminal and Civil divisions The accompanying classification report describes all the duties and responsibilities of the position.

In 2024 cost of the base salary, benefits, and fringe for the 2 Deputy City Attorneys is $517,094 which represents a total $44,889/9.5% increase. The incremental cost in 2024 is being paid for by the General Fund should CAO budget savings be insufficient to cover the additional expenses.
