Background Analysis
This contract amendment is for the 2016 Sidewalk Repair Program which provided for sidewalk repair and replacement in certain areas in the City. This is an annual program which provides access for users of the sidewalk network in the public right-of-way. The contractor performs the work and the cost is recovered from the adjacent property owner directly through an invoice or by a special assessment which is levied against the property.
The original contract appropriation is based upon estimates and the final contract amount is unknown until all of the work is completed. The work performed in 2016 exceeded the original estimate. This contract amendment is to increase the appropriation by $156,892.47 in contract C-40473 to pay the contractor for all work performed.
