Background Analysis
Minneapolis Code of Ordinances Chapter 349.270 sets maximum fees tow truck companies can charge for their services. These fees are adjusted annually based on the personal consumption expenditures price index (PCE) for the period ending December 31st of the previous year. The 2024 PCE Q4 index increased 3.06% and was published in February.
Staff is recommending the following maximum towing rates for 2025.
