Background Analysis
Public Works would like to enter into a sole source contract with ABM Equipment, LLC. Competition was attempted on Bid Event 3008 for refuse packer bodies and tipper assemblies, however, only one (1) bid was received, which was from ABM Equipment, LLC because it is the only authorized Loadmaster dealer in Minnesota.
Contract COM0008294 was awarded from Bid Event 3008 and expired on 6/25/2025. Public Works is requesting a new sole source contract to replace it.
Public Works Solid Waste and Recycling Division repairs and maintains Loadmaster Packer Bodies and Tipper assemblies for the City of Minneapolis and its boards. Solid Waste is responsible for garbage, recycling, organics and yard waste collection and keeping the city clean. ABM Equipment, LLC is the sole distributor of Loadmaster bodies and Swift lift tipper assemblies for Minnesota.
Due to the size of the fleet, a multi-year contract offers secure pricing and ensures timely service.
