Background Analysis

Tabulation of Four (4) bids submitted on Event 991 for Hennepin Water. Accepting the low bid of Thomas and Sons in the amount of $315,740.00 to provide all materials, labor, equipment and incidentals necessary for the Hennepin Avenue Water Main Construction Project, and authorizing a contract for the project, all in accordance with City specifications.

The water main in Hennepin Avenue between Washington Avenue and 3rd Street South is undersized. This project will replace the existing water main with a new, appropriately sized, water main. This work is being done prior to the Hennepin Avenue Paving project and is a standalone Water Capital project. As such, the funding for this project is from the Water Distribution Capital funding source WTR12.
