Background Analysis
***Pending full implementation of the recently passed government structure charter amendment, and any resulting changes to the City’s process for authorizing the following staff activities, this RCA is being submitted to Council under the City’s prior authorization process.***
The City issued an informal solicitation/Event #0000001714 via the City’s eSupplier platform in September of 2021 for research and advisory services to access research, best practices, strategic planning, and industry and government benchmarking for the Information Technology Department (“IT”). After a thorough vetting of received proposals, IT selected Gartner, Inc. (“Gartner”) as the supplier that best met IT’s needs for research and advisory services.
Gartner can serve the needs of the IT executives that lead technology services, that include, but not limited to, the below services:
- Core IT Research
- IT Key Metrics Data
- Gartner Analyst Webinars
- Diagnostic Tools, Templates and Case Studies
- Peer Networking
- Summit Event Ticket
Customized terms and conditions are as follows:
- Use of Gartner’s standard contract terms rather than the City’s;
- No termination for convenience; and
- All warranties disclaimed.
IT therefore requests to enter into a contract with Gartner for one (1) year and a not-to-exceed total of $32,100 for information technology research and advisory services.
