There is no net change in the annual operating budget; Public Works will reallocate those dollars to aging infrastructure elsewhere in the system. In general, the cost to maintain an MSA type of roadway is estimated at $10,000 per mile per year. Given the length of the project on 24th Street, Chicago Ave, and 28th Street (1.4 total miles), the resulting change in operating cost is approximately a net decrease of $14,000 annually.
This RCA request is apply for additional grant funds for capital improvements near Andersen Middle School. The project is supported by $1m in federal funds, $500,000 in MSA funds, and $500,000 in local funds.
