This grant serves Hennepin County Drug Court and convicted drug crime offenders referred by the court. The Police department provides liaison between the court, responding to information requests and monitoring Minneapolis Drug Court offenders for compliance with court conditions.

Our data for all 2024 drug court participants shows that 26.1% identified as white, 42.8% Black, 9.5% Hispanic, 8.3% Indian Alaskan Native, 1.7% Asian, 7.9% unknown, and 3.7% Multiracial.

Geographic data for the location of Minneapolis drug-related arrests and the residence of Drug Court offenders is not currently available.

Drug-related arrests occur through many police enforcement activities. Arrests can be singularly for drug activity or in conjunction with other police actions, identified by citizen complaint or police observation.
Section 4: Analysis
BIPOC community members are disproportionately represented in Minneapolis drug-related arrests and Hennepin County Drug Court participation.
Section 5: Evaluation
Impacts will continue to be measured through Minneapolis crime and arrest data and Drug Court participation.
Information should be shared with city departments for a coordinated approach to crime and drug use prevention.
