Background Analysis
The City released a Request for Proposals/Event #3031 for Engineering Design Services for the Northeast High Service Pump Station project on March 13th, 2024 and received proposals from five (5) firms. After a thorough internal evaluation process, CDM Smith was the selected consultant. Of the five consultants, CDM Smith had the most relevant experience delivering booster pump stations for Midwest water utilities.
The Northeast High Service Pump Station project will be funded by the Water Enterprise fund. The intent of the project is to construct a standalone pump station to house new booster pumps for the Northeast High Service that replace the existing booster pumps that are past their useful life. The replacement booster pumps will be located in a standalone building south of the existing Pump Station #7.
