Background Analysis
The amendment is for thirty-seven (37) increased scopes of work. The vast majority of the work has been completed over the last 18th months and this amendment was subject to extended negotiations on scope, time and pricing. The first increase of $207,938 is for additional lighting control devices needed to match the design intent of the lighting control system. The second increase of $33,625 is for the additional circuitry and ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) in all restroom for hands-free usability. The third increase of $2,409 is for additional electrical circuitry in the Security Operations Center. The fourth increase of $119,345 is for the additional data cabling required to meet the design intent (for technology and audio-visual devices) in the building's conference rooms. The fifth increase of $1,751 is for additional analog cabling as requested by the Information and Technology department. The sixth increase of $70,416 is for adding twelve circuits and converting forty-seven circuits to uninterruptable power supply (UPS) as requested by the Information and Technology department. The seventh increase of $36,006 is for changing the configuration of the data tracking in the various telecommunications rooms throughout the building as requested by the Information and Technology department. The eighth increase of $8,448 is to change rack elevations throughout the building as requested by the Information and Technology department. The ninth increase of $2,487 is for an additional data switch on 11th floor to support building automation systems. The tenth increase of $ 4,269 is for additional fiber optic cabling requested by the Video Services division of the Communications department. The eleventh increase of $9,321 is for having the contractor complete the “racking and stacking” of network data and security switches throughout the building for the Information Technology department completed the scope of work. The twelfth increase of $1,688 is for adding another electrical circuit in the Security Operations Center. The thirteenth increase of $48,937 Is for the addition of electrical circuits, lighting and landscape lighting for the outdoor terrace on 10th floor. The fourteenth increase of $1,816 is for remobilization costs for the conference center. The fifteenth increase of $4,826 is for additional coordination time for the medium conference rooms throughout the building. The sixteenth increase of $8,770 is for additional circuits added to level 8 of the building to support the equipment needs of the Police Department. The seventeenth increase of $2,906 is for the inclusion of the circuitry needed in the 3rd floor central corridor. The eighteenth increase of $1,261 is to relocate the electrical power for the pre-action sprinkler assembly to a different electrical panel. The nineteenth increase of $7,128 is to provide electrical power to the 2nd exhaust fan. The twentieth increase of $5,061 is to change the circuitry to 208v/3 phase for the dishwasher in the Crime Lab. The twenty-first increase of $8,976 is to raise electrical devices to a 13’- 0” clearance in the secure drive lane. The twenty-second increase of $1,280 is to revise electrical distribution in the audio-visual control room of the conference center to match equipment provided. The twenty-third increase of $9,317 is to relocate and add exit signs as required by the City’s building inspector. The twenty-fourth increase of $38,005 is for the additional electrical circuits to supply dedicated circuitry to the microwaves and macrowaves in the pantry areas on the office floor. The remaining thirteen increases were all under $1,000 per scope increase and totaled $6,620.
