Background Analysis

The Police Department has participated, along with other law enforcement agencies on the Sate Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force since 2018. The current Task force agreement is for the period of 2020 - 2025.  The Task Force uses a three-pronged approach to combat human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children:  prevention, education and enforcement.  The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will provide a Commander to oversee the collaboration of law enforcement agency investigators participating on the task force.

The new amendment increases continuing funding for Minneapolis Police investigator support on the Task Force.
