This grant will give the Minneapolis Fire Department the opportunity to provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the deaf and hearing impaired throughout the city.

There should be no different outcomes based on race related to this grant. All funding from this grant is earmarked for the hearing impaired, regardless of race.

We want to make sure the citizens of the city (primarily the hearing impaired) are infromed and aware that the Fire Department is including them when planning ways to improve the safety and education necessary to improve fire prevention.
Section 4: Analysis
This is more about helping the hearing impaired community to achieve equity rather than a race based initiative.
Section 5: Evaluation
Measurements will be difficult. In this case, we are hoping to prevent casualties from incidents in homes where the hearing impaired live.
